Hi.....not very techie minded so forgive my ramblings please. My PC has died today so have reverted to oldish Dell laptop to keep me sane. All working perfectly but just tried to install my printer software so I can print some stuff and it says no disk installed.Have had a little play around in my PC iliiterate way and can't find anything glaring at me. When I go to "my computer" the D drive shows but in "properties" says has no disk space free or otherwise.Any ideas you kind folks!Jan

Do you mean that the PC is looking for a floopy disk drive A: to install the printer drivers?
What is the capacity shown of the
drive? 0 -
Sorry didn't explain very well......attached printer and of course it is looking for the printer software so insert the disk on CD into disk drive and it does not know it's there. Capacity of drive stated as 0 bytes?? Does this mean anythng to you cos it doesn't to me!Thanks in advance0

download driver from website.!!

Thanks "closed" for that. Although it doesn't solve the problem of the D drive not being recognised it's certainly an answer to my printing robs. After trying to download drivers from two differrent sites, once I try to run driver detective I get the message that it can't be launched due to not downloading properly. Now feeling in way too deep!Do I give this up as a bad job? It's not normally in my nature. I want my D drive back!Jan0

Sounds like a faulty drive or disc.
Does the drive spin up when you insert the disc?
Insert the disc then goto my computer > right click D:drive > left click explore..... does it display the contents of the disc?
If not try any other CD... music, game doesnt matter & do the same as above.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0
