Wait until you get the goods, as if you leave the positive feedback you cannot claim if the goods dont arrive as by leaving the feeback your saying that you recieved the goods.

just explain you will once you receive the goods and check everything is ok.
This rule is there to protect you as a buyer so never leave the feedback until goods are received.
at the same time if you get them and everything is fine there is no sense in not leaving the feedback, you can still make a claim with paypal for not as described, even though you shouldn't be able to, you can.

Don't give any feedback until you have received, inspected and are happy with the item you purchased.
    Inform seller of this

If you don't receive item, file non-perfoming seller or item not received claim as appropriate.

Thats actually rubbish as feedback does not confirm receipt of goods as regards paypal. Only online prrof of delivery does

But dont leave the feedback the seller has to send to you the quicker he does the quicker there funds will get released. Send the seller this LINK. If you do not receive the items or believe they have not been sent. Open an item not received case in paypal after 7 days

Cyril- I expected better from you. :naughty:

The rule is not there for buyer protection, because ebay will refund the buyer even if the seller has took the money and ran.
It is for ebay/paypal protection so that they can guarantee that money and they don't have to refund the buyer.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

This. Paypal don't consider if you have left feedback or not when you make a claim.

What will happen if my payment is held?

The amount held will show as "Pending" in a separate PayPal balance on your account page. You will still have access to all other funds in your PayPal account.

Your funds will immediately be released when one of the following occurs:
    • The buyer leaves you positive feedback.
    • ...

No one is making a claim; the seller simply wants the funds released before sending item (which he'll have to whistle for)

well your right, it is there to protect paypal, they brag about offering protection, they actually force sellers to underwrite their protection policy and refund even where the law says they don't have to and ebay let them state as much.

paypal take and don't give anything.....however, while you can say this Turkish it always seems to provoke a particular bunch of idiots to pop up and start a ruck whenever i say anything to that effect and to be honest i can't be bothered arguing.

But thanks for pointing it out. :T
  • Seller has now since been removed from ebay. He has sent my item but only put a 1st class stamp on the envelope (i collected it from the PO and paid £1.06) & I had contacted him but a day later he had been removed.

Paypal will not refund for the £1.06 I had to pay extra. This is wrong. They are !!!!!!. Wish I had put in for a full refund now (cheeky cheeky!) and said I hadn't received the item.
