As for "Skills I can sell" I paint childrens canvasses. Cartoon characters etc on canvasses. I have put them on ebay but so far they haven't sold. Not sure where I may be going wrong there.Debt at lightbulb 16/8/2009 - -£22148.77

Hi there Rockabilly
You mention selling on ebay, be careful, if they are things you make to sell then you would have to declare them to JSA? I think and the tax man would want a slice if you earned over your personal allowance in total.
I list on ebay (craft items) and I am sorry to say the market has dropped off dramatically since last year. I actually sell far better at fair, have you thought of attending markets/car boots...............often you find the big car boots contain traders and attract a lot more people.
Copyright is also an issue, Disney are incredibly protective and their images are copyrighted.....................do you paint cartoon characatures ???? I could see both parents and kids would really like this kind of thing.
Do you have a website???? if not I could let you have the details of a web-hosting site and its free, you can build your own site in a couple of days
Hope some of this helpsDebt Free Diary - Second Chances! Life in a Tourer........Debt free, building a savings pot0 -

I kind of take a character but paint my own scene and kind of modify the colours.
As for declaring the income, I have my ways around that
Perhaps try them at a fair or something.Debt at lightbulb 16/8/2009 - -£22148.77

Hi Rockabilly,
What's your living situation?
Do you rent?
The priority debts are always mortgage/rent, council tax & utilities.
Have you completed a full SOA?
Even if you don't want to post it on the forum it'll help you to plan

Live with parents. Have minimised outgoings to the bare minimum. Going to try and make a payment a day towards the debt every day. Even if its a £1. I have about £5ish here to pay off in the morning.
I pay £30 a month towards guitar lessons
£25 a month towards my career devleopment loan
I get about £194 a month in benefits to live on. So I try to pay as much as possible as I can after I have bought my own food for the month etc.
I've looked into buying and selling scrap gold but not really sure where to start. Atm its selling about £7 a gram for 9ct. Not much coming of it yet though.Debt at lightbulb 16/8/2009 - -£22148.77

Hi, the priority is to always try to pay off any high interest or APR debts first such as store cards, credit cards that have been used to withdraw cash etc... do you have any of these?
With the guitar lessons, instead of paying, can you offer the guitar teacher any assistance, odd jobs or help which could mean discounted or free lessons?

Nah, I have already gone from weekly lessons to fortnightly. So this has reduced the amount quite a bit.Debt at lightbulb 16/8/2009 - -£22148.77

It's still costing you around £780 per year, is that money well spent?
