Well, call me old fashioned but I think it is quite obvious that an escort is generally a term for a prostitute and I think it's disgusting, not to mention illegal.

This isn't what MSE is about. It's undignified and desperate.

I'm fairly sure it's not illegal. Nor is prostitution. The illegal act is solicitation and does not apply to a private escort.

I personally don't see anything wrong with it. Sex is something we all like to get and due to circumstance can't always get, whether that be because we're too busy or lack confidence or don't want the messiness of a relationship, so what's wrong with paying for it? That way it's clean cut, everyone involved knows the score and everyone leaves happy. I hate this attitude that women in the sex industry are there because they've had a terrible life or need to feed their drug habit or were somehow coerced into it. Like women aren't capable of making their own decisions and it takes a big scary man to come along and force them to do things they wouldn't otherwise do. It's ridiculous. Whilst I've never worked in the sex industry, I know quite a few women who have and every single one of them loves it. They love sex, they want to make money so they do a job where they make insanely good money for doing something they love. To work in that industry takes guts and I think good on them.
Never argue with an idiot; they'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

A bloke must be a pretty sad tw-t if he has to pay someone to attend a function with him.
I'd just go to the function alone if I had no one to go with.

It's pretty sad people paying for escorts if they are getting sex at the end of the night, but even sadder if they aren't.
it sometimes is really useful for "gay" men to fit in at occasions where the rest of the team may not know they are gay or are very homophobic

i wouldnt say your sad to hire an escort sometimes its about the company if your on business in a hotel its sometimes better to have two people at teh table then being instantly recognisable as the sad loner who is eating alone

    What a sad situation .... Isn't this 2009 ?

If I was a gay man, and that was the case, I think I'd be looking for new work colleagues.

you would think so but formal occassions such as dances people would not feel very comfortable with two men dancing together for example and i have worked in places where its best to keep sctum then admit that i have a bf as the lads woulld ostrasize anyone who didnt fit there ideals

i am not saying it happens everywhere but i know how difficult it is being gay in the workplace and peoples reactions . some people however just want a quiet life and would hide who they were to fit the role they were doing

    Popular misconception unfortuantely.

Escorts in the main provide company etc for people, like a guy needs a date for a dinner, so he hires an escort, if anything happens after that, then it's between the two parties.

I know a couple of escorts that do not sleep with their clients, and they are hired as companions for an evening and that's all they are.

I completely agree that it is very sad that so many people don't believe that there are people who would hire companion without expecting sex.

So many young highly professional people that are building career do not have time/mood to find a life partner, but still have to go out with clients for dinners etc and if the client brings a partner/opposite sex colleague (or even misstres:p) it would be very uncomfortable if they were sitting there by themselves - 2 against 1.

Or people who travel abroad a lot for business and don't want to spend every night by themselves sitting in a hotel on the bed.

I have never done it myself, but would I find myself in any of these situations I would probably consider it.

I know what you are saying, but it is sad when people are forced to pretend to be something they are not, in order to seek the approval of others.

Pimping is still illegal isnt it? And an agency taking part of your earnings after setting you up with someone with the expectation that sex is involved would be pimping.
Therefore they maintain that they are just setting people up as escorts for a date no sex involved and anything else is an independant transaction between 2 people.

There is nothing wrong with exchange of money for sex between two parties with equal bargaining power.

However, it remains a fact that the enormous numbers of women in the sex trade are involved in it because they are addicted to alcohol and/or drugs, or they are coerced by pimps. In my view any man who takes advantage of women in that situation is little better than a rapist.

to get back to your original post, i think you'd find it hard to find escort work without some form of sexual contact, for want of a better phrase ;)

the sites you've probably found WILL pay good money because of the line of work it is....just be careful if you do go down that route

personally speaking, i can't see anything wrong with girls/women who do it.....as long as they're not hurting anyone, where's the harm? there'll always be guys out there who are willing to pay for sex, and if there are girls who have the guts to do it, then i can't really see the problem...they're all adults at the end of the day
