Mortgage-Style Student Loan Deferments

Hi folks,
I've recently started working at one of the SLC's callcentres in Glasgow and deal with the deferment of the mortgage-style loans. They told me the other day that they don't need me anymore (after 2 weeks!) so I am on the lookout for a new job. Anyway, I figured that since I have a lot of info about it it could be of use here.
Ask away and I'll do what I can to help - unfortunately I don't know much about applying for loans or the ICR loans - the only thing I know is I owe them £14,000 after graduating last summer. Eeek!!
BTW all SLC phone numbers are national rate (6p/min?). If you are abroad, you can call the switchboard on 0141 306 2000 and get them to put you through to save on call charges.

thnx for the handy switchboard number. not abroad myself but surely you can use it from uk line/mobile (free minutes) too?
6p/min (?) is rather steep considering they're not the quickest in resolving (if at all) queries.
I actually just posted on another thread about deferring loan repayment for mortgage...
