How accurate is the housing benefit calculator?

Hi all

Can anyone tell me how accurate the online housing/council tax benefit calculators on the council websites are please? I have filled out all the questions on the local council website and it calculated we can claim up £72 a week in housing benefit. We are moving into our flat next week and the online claim form won't let me finish it until we have actually moved in, I suppose I just want peace of mind more than anything :o

thanks

  • They are very accurate provided the information input into them is correct.

If you want piece f mind call the HB dept and ask them to do a benefit calc with you - they will be able to go through all your details and that way you know that the estimate they give you is pretty accurate!

    Good luck
