  • High Street Store.
we got mine at H samuels for £200 and i think it's perfect, it's a small diamond on a white gold band,
and personally i was all for going to m&s or argos and getting sthg for under £50 as it was the proposal that meant more to me than the ring.

Check out Marlows in JQ (dont know the st name but its on the main square). They have an online shop but its limited and overpriced. Friend bought hers from there. You pick your diamonds, setting, cut/style all seperately and then they custom make your ring, but still only takes a week or so. Very good quality diamonds.

Although we both live in NW london, we've decided to go to JQ on Monday and are both looking forward to it. Many thanks for giving me names of stores to go to. I've written them down cos I've nevr been to JQ and I'll like to know where exactly to go. I'll check this thread again before we go so I can write down names of more stores if anyone knows any more in the JQ.

I do hope we find something really lovely at a great price.
I'm trying to get my fiance to become a money saving expert too :rotfl:

I'm taking the ring he bought from the high store with us so we'll look for something close or be lucky enough to get the same design!
Thank you guys, will let you know how it went!

    Enjoy the warm weekend! :j

The other good thing about JQ is that you can haggle. Never take the first price they say or whats written on the ring. Theres a fair bit of competition in JQ so they want your business.

Mine was from Paul Green Jewellers. Lovely guys and they resized it there and then in front of me. Its a slight bit bigger than an L 1/2 as I have a weird size ring finger apparently!
    Green and White Barmy Army!
  • Names of more shops to go to at JQ please. Thank you.

JQ all the way - Dubai was much better value a few years ago but the increase in tourism has killed any bargains that were out there.

You could try newey's too, looks a bit shabby but pretty competative. GCR is good too. There is one opposite newey's with a black canopy over the door which is good (small place but excellent prices and will make exactly what you want on site) I can't remember the name though.

S P Green are my fave though the staff are just soooooo good.

I'd have a wander, look in at lots and try lots on before you decide, get them to note down the details of any you like on their business card and move on, It pays not to be too keen, you'll be able to negotiate a better deal!
