Problem with mobile phone sale

On 10/04/06 I sold my Samsung SGH-E720 mobile phone. The buyer contacted me to ask when I would be posting it and I informed him that I would post the item on the Thursday of that week via special delivery. I posted it just like I said I would and then didn't hear anything from the buyer until he left neutral feedback for me on 21/04/06. It said 'quick delivery well wraped up thanks' I was shocked that he had left me neutral feedback so I contacted the seller on Friday evening to ask if there was a problem and why had he not contacted me prior to leaving feedback. In all my auctions I state:

Please remember to leave feedback when you have received your item and I will do the same for you. If there is a problem with your item please contact me before proceeding to leave negative/neutral feedback and I will try and rectify the problem.

Anyway I didn't get a reply to my message until this evening when I received the following message from the buyer:

hi i left it like that because the phone keeps turning its self off but it was delivered quickly and in good box i was very happy with service from you but i now have a phone that does not work. Im sorry if you feel i am out off order but im shure you can understand from my point of veiw but i didnt leave negative because i would deal with you again. It is a fault that is intermitant so you might not of seen it happen regard XXX

I just cannot understand if he thinks he's got a phone that doesn't work why he didn't contact me before leaving feedback. I totally disagree with him because I've had the phone a while and there was never a problem and I had it on all the time.

I don't know what to do now, do I just leave it as it is?

This buyer has really annoyed me

Buyer is an idiot, but not much you can do about that.
    Happy chappy
  • Nope I guess not. It's just so infuriating. Sometimes I really do despise selling on eBay.

Another buyer who is too dim for ebay!

If he had a problem with the phone he should have contacted you. As soon as feedback is left I consider the transaction finished so at that point would not even consider negotiating with the buyer re faulty goods. I think some buyers are just so trigger happy when it comes to feedback.
