Finding out about bank charges

Hi all,

I'm considering starting the process of reclaiming bank charges, however I dont know how many charges I have incurred over the last 6 years.

Is it possible to ask the bank for a summary of the charges - are they obliged to do this?

Apologise if this has been posted elsewhere, I did look at the article however it doesn't really suggest how to go about finding out about the charges - and I couldnt find anything searching the forums.

As a further note, I unfortunately don't have all my bank statements (I've moved 7 times in the last 3 years alone - thus most seem to be lost / at the wrong address etc!)

Hi There

You can write to your bank and have them send a list of all charges or they send all your statements showing all your charges.

Their are templates for this and further info here on the main site - click on Reclaim £1000s at the top of this page.

When the OFT test case was announced the clock stopped on reclaiming charges so it is 6 years back from 27th July 2007. You can reclaim charges from 27th July 2001 until today's date

Yes the guide on this site tells you exactly what to do.

I won't suggest a trip to specsavers cos I know where the guide is
