Hi everyone
Was just wondering if anyone had any helpful info on a problem im having. Last week a purchased a Kodak ZX1 High Def Pocket Camcorder from Argos which i bought with my argos card and was delivered to my home address.
When i tried the item it worked fine but when i plugged it into my tv to watch the video back it barely picked up anything anyone was saying and when i was using the zoom feature on the camcorder, as the microphone is right next to the zoom button, the microphone picked up each time a pressed the button which when watching on the tv played back a really loud clicking noise which was ridclously annoying and loud.
Argos exchanged it but the problem is still there so it must be due to a poor quality item rather than a faulty item. I tried to take it back to argos but they are refusing so refund my money due to it being a camcorder.
Is there anything i can do? I dont mind paying for something that does the job it is supposed to do but when i buy a camcorder and cant use the zoom feature without the microphone picking up each time i press it, or the micrphone not picking up peoples voices then im really annoyed! I actually read some reviews on amazon after i tried the camcorder and alot of people on there were saying the same thing about the microphone problem so its obviously a poor product.
Can argos just refuse to give me my money back? Is there anything i can do?
Thanks for any help

Have you looked on the Kodak website to see if either volume levels or the clicking have affected anyone else? Might be an idea to contact the manufacturer and see what they say too.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Argos will not accept returns on items such as camcorders under their 30-day money-back guarantee. This is presumably because they are sick of people buying camcorders for (e.g.) their daughter's wedding, using it for the wedding then returning it a few days later. However, as Argos' website says, this does not affect your statutory rights.
Your statutory rights in this case are that the product is faulty through poor design and/or not fit for purpose. In this case the operation of the zoom has an undesirable effect on the microphone. I believe you have a right to refund as you have clearly identified the problem in a timely fashion.
