Recording part of a song....

I have several mp3 songs and wanted to know if it is possible to save just part of a song to put as my ringtone on my mobile. I am running XP and have Nero and a cd maker which came with my Acer laptop. I am sure I have read this somewhere before but cannot find the link.

There is a mp3 mixing program that is a free download on the internet called "atomixmp3" it is an mp3 mixing software but you can just play a song and choose what part to record0
