I've done this twice for my sisters-in-laws.
The first time my "box" was a moses basket i got cheap - tk max clearance £10.00
Second time, I got those big huge plastic boxes that you can use for storage/gardening/etc etc in asda. I got a load of freebies from actually mailing companies and asking if they would send samples. Organix were fantastic sending weaning foods.
Also, Pampers/huggies/boots parenting clubs are great! And mio bambino had free nappy samples at one point. Also the huggies little swimmers are great box fillers, you can usually get these as a sample or they sell for around 80p in boots.
Also, keep an eye out for "baby events". Morrisons had one not so long ago, offering 20% of all baby items. I was able to use a pampers £2 off coupon on a 6 pack of wipes. Think it cost me something like £2!! woohoo!
When I'm putting my gift boxes together, I try and spend just £2 a week getting a little something to add to it. Poundland is great for branded products, and tbh you really dont miss the odd 2 pound or so.
Hope you get on fab, and i can guarantee this will be such an appreciated gift!:heartpuls:heartpuls:heartpulsPrincesses wear crowns to remind them that they are beautiful and special because some days its easy to forget. :heartpuls:heartpuls:heartpuls0 -
Not sure if this is what you need but my sisters friend gave her the names of local shops that sell on second hand baby clothes. She gets really lovely, great quality outfits that were originally from asda, sainsburys, tescos, next, gap etc for a fraction of the price. Never shops anywhere else. She says of all the advice she was given when baby came along this has saved her the most.
We all know how quickly babies outgrow there clothes and often they are barely used. Hope you can find out somewhere local to your mate.
