Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

Hi Rainy Glad you and your family now have a secure home as temporary accommodation isn't usually very nice.

Ignore the nast post from Mandij30 negativity is useless and it sounds as though she has axes to grind and issues of her own to work on!

The Furniture Project someone posted about is good advice. Our local council give referrals to people on very low income or benefits to go to our local one and they can sometimes get things for free or for a minimal price.

Also the advice about crisis loans is good and worth looking into. I think it is administrated seperately from JobCentrePlus but I know you can pick up the forms from there so give it a go.

    Good luck

do not ring the 0800 number as this is for crisis loans on the day eg food, go into a job centre and ask for a crisis loan for items..
