replace shower unit

any one know roughly how much to take out electric shower unit and replace with new unit

    Assuming there is no need to re route or uprate the cable or the pipe, or carry out any retiling etc, I should reckon around two hours work.

    This should be OK from the point of view of Part P because it is a replacement. There have been amendments to this recently.

    If I were doing it I would quote around £40.

    If you only have a 6mm cable and want to upgrade it to a 8.5 or higher you may have to uprate the cable

    if you read the post carefully mercurystar999, i think you will realise that hugo means the kw power of the shower and not the size of the cable......... ;)

    Correct. 8.5KW shower in some curcumstances wil require the 10mm cable. In all cases you need to be aware that the fuse/MCB rating will need to be carefully selected for the rating of the shower.

    A direct replacement will probably not require a certificate or building notice. Upgrading the cable and protection will require a minor works cert if i am correct.
