alliance & leicester claim in hardship

Hi
A couple of months ago, I put a claim into the Alliance and Leicester to reclaim my bank charges. I claimed hardship since my husband has been made redundant. The last I knew, they were looking into the matter but would get back to me by 31 July. I haven't heard from them but upon checking my account today, I have found that they have given me £185 in refunded charges.
When I've claimed from IF before, I had to sign a letter saying that the repayment was in full and final settlement etc so I foing it strange to not have anything from A & L, just money.
What if I don't think that's enough. How can I not agree to it if they don't ask me to agree to it!!??
Help
Thanks
Katie:confused:

If you have their letter and there is a telephone number give them a call as to why you have not received any letter from them. Furthermore, so that you are clear in your mind, the amount is not a full and final settlement of your whole claim, just the financial hardship element however they should have sent you a letter explaining their reasoning. I suspect this has gone astray.
