Wow, well done , you will love New York its an amazing city. When we went we found the tour buses the best way to see the city by day and by night. It is much cheaper to buy the tickets when you get there most hotels will have them for sale.
Enjoy I am sure you will have an amazing time. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A0 -
Well done! So lucky! What's gone will never come back. But it exists when you think of it ...0

www.esbnyc.com – this is the empire state building website. You can buy your admission and headsets for the audio tour online here and then just print off the tickets. This means you don’t have to wait in lines to buy them once you arrive. I went about 3-4pm which was good as I saw the city by dusk, day and night. (But that was february, check when dusk is when you are there)
http://www.nycvisit.com/home/ - you can order a free visit guide which has a good map on it.
These are the websites you can find out about the boat trips, NYC trips and helicopter rides and stuff

http://www.bigapplegreeter.org/index.aspx?content=index – This is a free Greeter service by native new yorkers who love their city and want to show the best bits to tourists its VG – I would really recommend it.
They also have good area guides/ neighbourhood profiles too (scroll right down to the bottom of the home page) you can download for free from the website too, which are really useful. Like it says on the website, although they can assist visitors in seeing the better known tourist attractions, their main focus as volunteer friends is to share their favourite neighbourhoods and to show visitors the little things they'll often miss. Which is quite cool – my greeter took me round central park and the upper west side.
If you decide you want to walk the BrooklynBridge (its about a 20min stroll) – I would recommend going from Brooklyn to Manhattan – as the view is much better (all the skyscrapers etc) rather than seeing the Brooklyn Skyline.
Also in Brooklyn near the start of the bridge is this amazing chocolate shop calles Jacques Torres. It's at 66 Water Street. Go for a hot chocolate break before going up the Bridge - its the best hot choc in the world. A few people Ive recommended it to have gone and raved about it, so its not just me!!!!
Thank you :T:T:T I'll print this out in a minute and get planning :T:T:T0 -

Thank you too :T:T:T We usually do the tour bus thing in this country so will definitely try and do that, I'm wondering how much actual time in the 2/3 days we'll get
I'll try and fit in as much as possible :j 0 -
