I've owned two pairs of GHDs and then bought these. They are ALMOST as good, some even say better! http://www.amazon.co.uk/BaByliss-2088U-Elegance-Bronze-Straightener/dp/B000QEWNQE

PunkRockPrincess: Can you curl with your straighteners?
Also i've noticed they're 220 degrees compared to others which are 230....does 10 degrees make a difference?! (I think my brain is going frizzy never mind my hair...too much dissertation writing me thinks!)0 -
Tesco own brand - £7.99 or thereabouts. I bought some to tide me over when my GHDs broke and I was waiting for them to be fixed. They are the second best straightners I've ever used! Much better than many ones I've owned in the past that advertised themselves as 'as good as GHD' at a fraction of the price.0

I've got a set of Remingtons and they are fantastic. I've also got some FHI ones from Sallys which are brilliant - both make my wild afro bone straight. There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0

I personally think GHDs are the best (I am a hairdresser and straighten all different types of hair each day) If you got fake GHD's of e-bay you should be entitled to a refund if not from e-bay, paypal should.I am pleased to give hairdressing help or advice, but a thank you doesn't go a miss.0

How do I go about getting such a refund? I've had them about 3 months and have used them. I kept thinking "hmmm these aren't as good as my sisters" but kept persisting with them thinking I was using them wrong or something so will my time for trying to claim not have run out by now?
Am actually quite gutted - paid 70 quid on them stupid woman!0 -
Not sure if you can get a refund after 3 mth, enquire with e-bay and paypal. to much time may have lapsed thou.
Good LuckI am pleased to give hairdressing help or advice, but a thank you doesn't go a miss.0 -
I have really curly hair and use GHS which cost me £30 and came with clips, comb and case thingy - they are the same design as GHD's and work just as well - if the rumours are to be believed, there were 2 people who designed GHD but they had a big fall out and went their separate ways. The one who marketed GHD had a lot more money so was able to market it on a massive scale but the other bod didn’t have much so has been building up a rep via internet!!
I also use a straightening cream which helps if Im going out dancing all night!!0
