(Cheap) As-good-as GHD straighteners?

Hello guys and girlies,
I'm in need of some good straighteners after (to cut a long story short) I bought what I thought was genuine GHDs off e-bay and they weren't.
I've been using my wee sisters but need some of my own and at the mo I can't afford to fork out 100 quid on them.
I've got REALLY thick frizzy/sometimes curly hair so only the best will do i'm afraid! I want them to be able to curl as well as straighten (not asking much i know!)
I've been looking at the reviews on Amazon as I know that certain Remington ones etc have had good feedback.
Any suggestions?

Hi
I have a set of remingtons and they seem to work really well for me,the model is s9903 professional, they have a digital temp setting that goes up to 230 degrees and curl really well too.Expecting Baby No 1 - 20/06/14 - Team Yellow!0 -

Hi Mrs Edwards to be
A couple of weeks ago I bought some Babyliss Pro 230 straighteners from Argos and they're great. They're £24.34 and heat up to 230 degrees in 15 seconds. I was between them and some identical Remmingtons, but there was a reduced price on the Babyliss so I went for them.

Another vote for the remmingtons, I don't straighten my hair very often so didn't want to folk out for GHD's but my remmingtons are brilliant!2009 wins: Cadburys Chocolate Pack x 6, Sally Hansen Hand cream, Ipod nano! mothers day meal at Toby Carvery! :j :j :j :j0

I also have some Remingtons - not sure which type but were on special offer in Argos at the time. They heat up really quickly to 230 deg (max) but when I first got them they did singe my hair a bit as they were too hot. Now I have 'weaned' myself off them as I was using them too often and wrecking my hair. I prefer the natural volume look nowadays.0

There was a thread on the grabbit board about these straighteners being £16.99 in Sainsburys i think it was.
I have Babyliss ones and they're great, i have really thick hair too.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Hey my hair is really fine, but I got these http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000SZ958K/ref=ox_ya_oh_product and I cannot reccomend them enough. The are Remington S2013 and cost 15 pound. Bargain0
