Camp sites in West Wales?

Does anyone know of any west wales campsites that have the following:
decent showers
decent pitch rate
walking to/staggering from distance from a good pub.
good for mid-may
I have only ever had one experience of camping and that involved a 14 year old giving birth in the showers at 6am (' she was due today, but your first is always late isn't it, and besides the midwife thought she needed a holiday...), so I am not really in for on-site entertainment.
Thank you in advance.

when they were giving out brains, I thought they said 'trains', so I asked for a slow one...

Newgale! Near St Davids.
The field is next door to the pub and about 200yds accross the road is the sea! Very popular with surfers. Not too sure about the showers though. i live in pembrokeshire and used to live up the road from newgale.
Further along the coast is freshwater east which is a gorgeous beach but not too fammiliar with camping facilities.0 -
Thanks, apologies to anyone else who posts and does not get a response. I am not used to forums and I keep losing my place! Newgale sounds good, but anything will be better than my first experience...when they were giving out brains, I thought they said 'trains', so I asked for a slow one...0

Been having a think about it and if you arnt interested in beaches then tenby is a popular area - plenty of pubs and shops close to campsites. May wouldnt be too busy either. https://www.visitpembrokeshire.co.uk might help!0

Used to live in Swansea, so must be able to get sand between my toes. Love Tenby but spent too much money in Equinox to go back. Also it reminds me of various drinking sessions that have ended up in Sands(!) I am still seeking therapy.when they were giving out brains, I thought they said 'trains', so I asked for a slow one...0

Saundersfoot is beautiful and not too busy, just a couple of miles outside Tenby.
I'm sure the Pembrokeshire site quoted above will locate a couple of sites in Saundersfoot for you...Mortgage at outset (May 2004): £80,000
Mortgage now (October 2007): £58,000
Original mortgage-free date: May 2024
Expected mortgage-free date: December 2014
Projected interest saving: £21,1000 -
I can recommend Rowstons in New Hedges which is a lovely site. No pub on site but there is a steak house in the village itself which is a very short walk away. Rowstons is ideally situated between Saundersfoot and Tenby, and it also has it's own private beach called Waterwynch Bay. We spent 2 weeks here last August and the children had a lovely time.
Another campsite that is nice and which we have just returned from is Little Kings near Amroth, this is not particularly cheap, but it does have an indoor pool, pub and bar meals and a play area for children. Have just had a lovely relaxing weekend there last weekend.0 -

OMG You get about a bit!!!
Tycoch only around the corner from where I live- still open, don't know how :-)0 -
we used to go to Little Kings when i was a lot younger and i remember it being really nice.
Newgale campsite is fab if you're young and want to rough it a bit next door to a pub and opposite the beach (oh brings back memories!)
Avoid Kiln Park - mega expensive and tacky - this is in Tenby.
Pendine sands is really pretty and quiet, but this may not be suitable in May cos you need the weather.
Sorry i haven't been much help really, so I'll go!0
