Sham el sheikh (opinions?)

I am on the lookout for some good holiday deals for the june period. I will be going with my girlfriend and we are aged 19-21, we enjoy a good nighlife and good food, beaches etc etc
Last september we went to puerto rico which was good but we fancy somthing a bit different on our next holidays.
We are thinking about going to sham el sheikh (egypt)
I have heard positives from people who have been to sham el sheikh.
The place looks beautiful, good nightlife, beaches look stunning and the package holidays seem excellent price (online)
For example
Destination Sharm el Sheikh
Dep Date 11 June, 2006
Cost £445 per person
Dep Point Cardiff
Duration 14 Nights
Share basis (Adult) 2 (Child) 0
Rating 3* Tour operator's own rating
Board basis Half Board
Accomm type Hotel
Would anyone who has been on hollidays recommend other people to go here? I have heared that egypt is rough but isnt that in cairo etc?
Thanks for the reply's
Also can anyone recommend the best place online to book? Anyone had any good experiences with a certain company etc?
Cheers guys.

If while your there you want to see anything of the pyramids or any other historical site you will have to pay out a large sum and endure a long coach ride in the heat. Therefore it may work out cheaper if you go to Luxor or Cairo. But if all you want is a beach/nightlife holiday it may be what you are looking for. Then again, if thats what you want you could go to the Baleraic Islands and save yourself a load of money.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

Sharm could be anywhere in the world, so unless you want to go diving I can't see why you would choose that over anywhere cheaper.
BTW the nightlife ain't that great. If you want nightlife go to Ibiza0 -
Whatever you decide check out the hotel ratings on tripadvisor.com first. WE had a great time, but we were in a 5* ( not a Uk 5*) the hotel ratings are below the UK's. Go for the best you can in a central position in Sharm - i.e. not a bus ride away. It'll be hot in June - but it's fabulous.HLK

We went in January and loved it that much we're going back again in October

Pros: Fantastic snorkelling (main reason for going back); almost guaranteed sun (may be too hot in June though?); beautiful scenery (make sure you go watch the sun set over the sinai mountains, it's awesome!); warm sea; beautiful clean beaches; very cheap (both for the holiday itself and when you get there eating out etc)
Cons: Hotels aren't the same rating as elsewhere (we went 3 star and it was more like 1 or 2 star!); you get hassled constantly to go buy in their shops, take a boat trip etc; the public toilets are best avoided; you'll more than likely get a dodgy belly
Night life while we were there wasn't brilliant but then again we had the kids with us so that suited us perfectly...
As I said earlier, we loved it, and I'm not usually the sort to go to the same place again. We're off to a more upmarket hotel this time though, we stayed in the Halomy Hotel last time and although the setting was idyllic, the hotel itself left a lot to be desired!
As for where to book, we've booked for October with First Choice and got a really good price - 2 weeks B&B in a 5* hotel for just over £500 each :j0 -

Get a hotel in Naama Bay - that is the main resort where the night clubs etc are. We went in January and loved it. Our hotel was at Sharks Bay so had to get a taxi into Naama Bay (costs about 5-7 english pounds one way) you do get hassled to go into shops but we had a laugh and a joke and it was fine. We also did the night coach journey (seven hours) to Cairo - looked on it as an adventure and loved every minute of it - great value.something missing0
