Faded red kitchen doors

I have a lovely red fitted kitchen that is just over two years old. Unfortunately doors near the window are now orange due to light fading them! The original company that fitted them is bust but I have sourced the company that still makes them. It says that bright colours do fade and can only offer replacement doors at trade cost. Does this sound reasonable/fair to anyone ????

    Which manufacturer is it?

And yes, coloured gloss doors will always fade when exposed to sunlight (unless you had the foresight to get Parapan doors) and unfortunately will be classed as "wear and tear".

This should have been explained to you by the company you got the kitchen from, but obviously as they have gone bust, you cannot get them to replace the doors FOC. So you will have to pay for the doors.

At least you are getting a good deal on them? If you let me know who you are getting them from and how much they are charging you, I'll be able to tell you if you really are getting a "trade" price...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

  • Is there any issues with white gloss doors?

I wouldn't be buying them at trade prices - why, so that every 2 years you can buy new doors? A quick internet search should provide other alternatives at a cheap cost as you can probably buy them off the rack?
    I love surprises!

    Nope, shouldn't be...
