BT Unlimited Weekend Plan - have you seen this ?

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I spotted it last night.

http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayCategory.do?categoryId=CON-HOME-PHN-R1

Take a look at Things You Need To Know at the bottom of the page. It implies that Unlimited Weekend Plan customers need to make at least 1 chargeable call per month for the rental to remain £11.25. There is no mention of whether 1571 or Caller Display is active or not.

Is this a new development ? I'm about to switch to Sky Talk Freetime CPS. I've not got 1571 nor Caller Display so thought I would be safe from extra charges from BT .....

BT company representative clarified that aspect back in March - see HERE.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

You need to make at least 1 chargeable call per month and this can be either calls that are included in the weekend plan, or calls outside of it. I remember seeing on here a geographical number for the speaking clock, (think it was an 0207 number). Call that to avoid any charges.

Was there from the beginning, it was a requirement to enable you to have free weekend calls. If you don't make any calls then you would be put on the Line Rental only package where you would pay for any weekend calls.

Thanks for your replies. I take it that the Line Rental Only package will also be £11.25 pm then.
