spending money for spain

Hi everyone,

I was just wanting to pick your brains, we are going to salou, Spain in september for 14 nights. I have been before a few times but always gone SC this time we are going HB and not sure about spending money.

Our plans are to go to the theme park (7 day ticket is only about 3euros more than 3) mainly go to the beach and eat out occasionally.

How much spending money per day do you think we will need, we were thinking £50 so that on the days we dont spend any we will have extra for shopping days. Do you think this is too much, too little or right on the mark.

We will be staying in the resort and walking so we wont need any travel expencives.

Thanks

  • Personally, for a family of 2 adults and two children we always reckon on £100 a day. Sounds a lot to some people and not enough to others. All depends on you expectations and requirements I guess

Sorry yeah forgot the say, it is 2 adult and 2 kids, but we are not going on holiday to spend spend spend, we just want enough to keep us going, so that if we want to buy something we can without wondering if we will have enough to tide us over.

  • hi wanty, one moneysaving tip if you like a drink, buy the local beers or spirits, either in a bar or at the supermarkets. the names which you,re used to usually have a similar drink for less than half the price. like creamy coffee liquers or peach schnaaps etc. the names you recognise are more expensive because of import costs. same goes for food. i paid over 3 quid once for a box of cornflakes in the caribbean!!!!
anothe tip is ice cube bags...take loads. very handy.
    enjoy. :D

  • ice cube bags are ideal if you got fridge/freezer box in your room. cheaper than sendin kids to the shop for bottles of ice cold pop ten times a day.
