Hi I have a couple of large items that Id like to sell on ebay. They will have to be picked up by the buyer though rather than posted.
However, I am unsure whether it is best to ask for cash on collection or use paypal as I usually do when selling items.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

You have to accept Paypal on all listings (except cars). However, if you set the P+P high enough to cover posting the item by a tracked method (which, depending on the item, could be into the £100+ bracket), most buyers will collect it anyway. Make sure if they collect they pay in cash though, or you'll most likely get stung by a chargeback.pinkhayley789 wrote: »Hi I have a couple of large items that Id like to sell on ebay. Im selling a bed on pickup only, it can be done!
please state 'cash on collection only' in your listing. only the odd muppet then pays with paypal, although paypal is ok for most things!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

I would put that cash on collection preferred. I think that eBay could pull the listing. Personally I would only accept cash as if they paid with Paypal they could file a item not received and you would have nothing to prove that they collected the item.
It depends on the items. eBay may not be the best place to sell as you have to offer Paypal.0 -

You have to list pay pal as an option you can state that you would prefer cash on collection though
and a charge back is what a buyer can do after sending you the money on paypal in which case you would have no item and no money.0 -
