Mastercard and stupid payment plan!

Hi all,
I had a conversation on behalf of someone else tonight with Mastercard, spoke to someone in Brighton to start with.
Situation is person not able to work due to ilness and is not going to be able to return.
Other month a woman at MC told me to cancel the d/d so it didnt fail as not enough £ in the account, did this and now a late payment charge has been added :T
In short, benifits income look to be about £700, and money needing to go out for mort, bills etc... is about £600, obviously food is needed so it really doesnt leave anything to pay MC with. They said to put this in writing which we are doing and they can set up a payment plan. I asked how much and they said it can be done over 6 months to 2 years, £3500 is owed which would mean £145 a month, there is no way there will be that much spare to pay them, litterally £10 a month will be pushing it!
What i dont want it them taking unauthorised money out of the a/c though...
So what is the best thing to do, the first girl in Brighton seemed fine, i was then passed to India and they couldnt grasp how the figures just dont add up
Any advice please?

Send everything by letter only, that way you have a paper trail and send recorded delivery. Include the payment proposals with a statement of affairs, all your incomings and outgoings. There is one you can download on here I think but also on nation debt line and consumer credit counselling web sites.
If there is only £10 free at the end of the month then that is all there is. Do remember that a credit card debt is right at the bottom of the pile. Mortgage and priority bills such as gas come first with any court fines and/or CCJ. Food is next and they credit card is the last, this is why they put the most pressure on. It may be an idea to request a copy of the credit agreement if the account was taken out before 2008.

www.cccs.co.ukWow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted
I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p

I would contact CCCS, they will deal with all your credit providers. CCCS will want to know your incomes & outgoing and will make a proposal to creditors. And if it is only £5 so be it until your friend is able to have more income coming in. In the meantime I would make a token payment to each providers (£1) until you come to a mutual agreement0

Thanks guys, we currently do not know the exact figure of support which is going to be paid, so is it best to say this?
The current account has about £1500 in, but this needs to last obviously, so was concerned they could just take it, not sure if they can do this? or just take the arrears which are about £70 at the moment?0 -

You can withdraw the amount and keep the cash in hand, cant you?I am neither a bull nor a bear. I am a FTB, looking for a HOME, not a financial investment!0 -
