in Credit cards
I recently purchased an item through Play trade-using credit card- the seller then asked if they refunded the credit card could I pay through paypal- they refunded creidt card- and I obliged. I have not received item and have started dispute through paypal. If i read correctly paypal will pursue the money but will not get me a refund unless seller has money in account. As my paypal account is funded by a credit card have i the option to pursue the money back through my credit card. Am I likely to get the money back through paypal or is all lost. Thanks

Depends on your Credit Card company as to how amenable they will be. Play out the Paypal dispute first (but keep a copy of all emails to Paypal).
I had a similar case for an 'off - ebay' sale.
From memory form was:
1. Complained via Paypal.
2. Paypal came back saying they agreed with me but there was no Money to refund.
3. Complain via Credit Card company.
4. Credit Card Company comes back to say that I should pursue the case fully through Paypal first, to which I replied that Paypal had agreed to the refund but had specified that no money was in the Seller's account to refund.
5. Credit Card refunded money.

Couple of months later.
Letter from Credit Card company saying that Paypal had queried the chargeback and I had 10 days (or something similar) to reply or they would reverse the chargeback
Sent Credit Card company copies of 5-6 emails from Paypal and referred to some of the Paypal details within the chargeback query that were blatantly contradictory.
Chargeback stood............
I would say you MUST pursue within Paypal first and get to the stage that Paypal tell you that you are eligible for a refund, but there are no funds in the seller's account.
Once you get to this stage Paypal's usual argument that the Credit Card was purchasing e-money (that is then sent to the seller) rather than the actual item falls apart... as they are effectively saying that they should give you the e-money back .... but aren't going to.
Therefore the chargeback is relation to the return of the 'e-money' purchase rather than a chargeback on the item itself.0
