Electrolux Oven stopped working

Hi, i have a ELECTROLUX COOKER MODEL EOB944W1 (944 250 229).

A few days ago my oven stopped working, When i turn the oven on a light iluminates on the display panel to confirm its on but Nothing inside the oven happens.... inside the oven are 2 elements (1 for the oven & 1 for the grill) both of which do not heat up, neither does the fan or light come on.
I checked fuses... ok. I thought it must be the thermostat, so i changed that for a new 1 but still no luck!
Can anyone help???

Cheers.

http://www.howtomendit.com/answers.php?id=120488. Worth a try but make sure you switch electric off at the mains 1st
  • Hi, thanks for that link, i checked out the mains cable & it looks ok, i turned the power back on and set the clock/timer but still nothing happening in the oven. If the lightbulb in the oven has gone would that stop the elements & fan from working? im baffled! The only 2 things left to change are the timer/clock unit & the knob unit that turns the oven on.
  • > If the lightbulb in the oven has gone would that stop the elements & fan from working?

    No
  • Ive already spent 24.99 on the thermostat.... Would it be worth changing the SWITCH SELECTOR? ive seen one for 32.99
or should i get a electrician to look at it?
Even though the led light comes on when i turn the switch selector to oven or grill setting the heat led does not light up.

Or just get an oven thats not electrosux ;)
  • Hi, thanks for that link. I gave up yesterday and rang REPAIRCARE who quoted 100 pound including parts & labour to fix it, i booked online for friday 21st august. They rang me back yesterday baffled when i told them the problem ie... oven element, Fan, Grill element, light all not working but power showing to unit with timer/clock working ok, led light working when knob turned on. Low and behold they ring me back today saying no one is available friday is monday ok???? what a joke, im back to work next week. When i said i booked it for friday, which online said ok, also i had a text to my mobile saying dont forget friday our engineer is coming!
Lady on the phone said sorry but our online booking isnt always upto date!!!! Yet she never said yesterday he couldnt come! Im getting abit wound up here! right, im calm. Phew. Refund requested.
Lesson learned, dont bother booking repairs online! (though i suspect they prefer to just replace elements rather then problem solve.... just my opinion).

Anyway... Ive looked but can't find the Electrolux Safety Thermostat on my oven anywhere.... any ideas where to look???
    Any help much appreciated.

    Cheers.

Have a look in ebay code number 330348897401. Not sure if that what you want cause you never mentioned your model number.
10/10 for trying to repair it cause you seem to have tried nearly everything
Sorry you did say model number
  • Thanks i'll try that. The model is Electrolux EOB944W1
    (944 250 229) 30305705
  • JUST CHECKED YOUR EBAY LINK, thanks but unfortuantely ive already changed that thermostat with no luck. The previous person mentioned a thermostat cut out switch... but i cant find it on my oven anywhere unless i just dont recognise it.

    Thanks for trying though!
1st of august was when it stopped working, im determined to solve it, it must be something simple. Ive had an electrician friend test all wires and all seems ok.
