I have tried using Spyware Doctor and StopZilla and whilst they both gloat that they have found some nasty infections, both ask me to pay up or remain infected.
Are there are tools out there that actually remove the infections?
For the uber-techies amongst you, I think I have a trojan, CSRSS.exe as my computer from time to time keeps grinding to a halt with 100% of the CPU being used and CSRSS.exe is in the open processes. I cannot kill it off as it says it is a system file, and if I google CSRSS.exe it tells me it is a nasty trojan!?

SpyBot is pretty good and accurate; I have heard very good things about Malwarebytes also.
