Halifax bank charges!!! We need help!!!!

Hi me and my partner dont know what to do now! We submitted our letter to Halifax in late 06 and received a confirmation saying they have received it, next we got a letter saying that charging process have been put on hole until the test case had been, we now have no idea what to do next!?!?! We are claiming for over £2000 and we are now getting married so if theres anything we can do we would. We are not eligible for financial hardship!
