Hi, this is a bit of a long story, so apologies in advance.
I ordered 2 pairs of black wide fit sandals one size 6 and one size 7 with a view to wearing them to a wedding 5 days away. When they arrived, I tried them on and realised they had sent me the standard fit ones instead. Phoned them up and told them the error and that I had specifically wanteed them for a wedding on the Sat (this was the thurs), lady apologised and said would send out next day delivery and assured me they were the wide fit ones this time. They arrived on the Friday and as soon as I opened them I could see (from cat no and standard on box) that the same mistake had been made. I didn't even try them on, I sent them back and wore another outfit instead with brown sandals.
Upon receiving next statement I realised only the size 6 (of the second lot) (both pairs of first shoes had been returned ok) was showing as returned. I emailed them to find out why. Whilst waiting for their reply I received the size 7's back again with a letter saying they had been worn. There are slight wear marks on the heel. As I hadn't even opened them I obviously didn't notice! They are saying I have worn them and sent them back. I phoned and spoke to someone who said I had to put in writing my claim. Duly did that, explaining all the above, got reply today saying they can't accept them back and I am liable for the cost of sandals and any other costs incurred ie: the second delivery charge of £3.95. I don't even think these sandals fit me ( I still haven't tried them on!)
What can I do now? I don't know of anyway to prove I haven't worn them, except maybe DNA testing which is ridiculous!
Any suggestions please.
