Halifax Student Account 2009/10: We Want Your Feedback

I've just graduated and have had a Bank of Scotland (now HBOS) student account for quite a while. I've got to say that I've had nothing but a positive experience with them. I've actually had access to the student overdraft facility for 6 years. I explained to the bank that I was changing course and they were absolutely fine with this.

I went in to see one of their financial managers about paying back my overdraft last week. She was really good and gave me some advice how to pay it back within the year. She also set up another account, the Reward Account, with Visa Debit card etc to allow me to use that for day to day banking and set money aside in my student account. I had some bad charges and problems with my credit card about 4 years ago with HBOS but they were always very understanding. I was worried it would affect my options for other facilities on graduation but everything seems to be fine

My daughter has had an account with the Halifax since she was a child. Now in her second year at uni she tried to change it to a student account and was not even accepted. Not impressed at all! Very poor service Halifax.
