    For me the feelings I remember best are the feelings before we started to sort it out. The stomach-churning-not-sleeping-telephoneandletter-phobia-self-doubt-arguments-crying-at-3am-not-eating-over-eating-hiding-pretending-SHAME of it all.

    Most of that stopped as soon as we started on regular payments and just got back in control again. I can now see, from the benefit of hindsight, that I was the person who made me feel like that. There is no shame in trying to sort it all out, and we should take some pride in that.

    Congratulations. Another one bites the dust. Not long to go now. When you've paid it all off - take a short breather and then start saving for the honeymoon you never had/ the once in a lifetime trip/the best car in the world ever- whatever you want! You will get just the same kick that you are taking on the banks and best of all they pay you to look after your money - how great is that! You will still be obsessed by percentage points - just the other way around. Lol. You've got plenty to look forward to - don't worry about that. :rotfl:

    I am such a sad person and have no life!! I add up at the end of each month to see how much more we have to go-- the really sad part about that is that I know EXACTLY how much longer I have to go-- I just really like seeing it down in black and white. At the beginning I used to do this in terms of pounds, but now I do it in terms of months. My OH thinks I'm obssessed and I think that maybe he has a point.

    What will I do when we have finished this???? I find it really comforting to tot it all up and see how much it has shrunk since the start, think I will find that hard to let go of--does any one understand that?

    First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!! :beer::T:T:T:T

    Second, I totally understand!!! I work on my spreadsheets all the time and OH thinks I'm totally obsessed too. Cant wait until all our debt is gone. Next step for you will be to get obsessed about saving - after celebrating of course !
