Harvey & Thompson

I took a loan out with these 4 months ago. They have failed to request my direct debit from the bank every month and so have come to an agreement to pay them on my card every month.

Now this month, my payment came off my card as usual on the 6th, just logged in to my bank to find they've taken my payment again!

I'm furious!! I've spoken to them and apparently, they've spoken to me today advising that they were taking the payment (they haven't). My bank have said that they can't recall the payment and I'm now left with no money at all.

H & T have said that I need to fax over my bank statement showing the 2 payments this month and they will look into it, but the refund will take 72 hours. I'm not happy at all.

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on how I can take this further? Helpful advice that is, not 'you shouldn't have got a loan from these cowboys' advice.

Thanks

Ellie

i had the same problem with these cowboys. i took out a loan in march been paying it directdebit until june they took same payment twice then dipped into my account using my debit card details i was hit with bank charges. i had a lor of difficulty getting through to them as they kept passing me onto different numbers wouldnt refund money until my bank statement with charges came through. i then had to wait an hour in my local branch till they decided to refund me. ideally id love to clear them off but as i have link with them now plus bank charges i cant pay them off they are useless custome service is appalling. i would just keep hassling them if you have a branch near you go in and just brass your case you havent done anything wrong and being left with no money is rubbish. let me know how it goes?

Its the lies they've told me today that got to me! They reckon they've rung me, but when asked, the number they've supposedly rung me on isn't mine!

We have a branch where I work. Can I demand they refund my payment directly through them do you know?
  • hi ellie
i got my refund directly through them the local branch that is i waited an hour while 'head office' looked at my paperwork - i also made sure they gave me a receipt for my refund as i did not want bank to think it was my error. they are a nightmare to deal with and it doesn't surprise me they lied about phoning you. just be prepared it might take you a while in the branch to get ur refund in case you are planning on going in your lunch or something hope this helps ya
