Hope someone can identify this. It has appeared to the left and is the depth of the screen.
It says "Type text to look up in a variety of research and reference services."
"You can also press ALT and click a word to start a search"
There's also a drop down menu of various dictionaries or a choice of all reference books. At the bottom It reads,"Get services on office marketplace" and "research options"
Other than that I don't know where it's come from or how to get rid. Its obscuring part of my screen. I've googled but haven't matched it to anything.

Have you installed any software recently? alot of things now come with e.g. yahoo or google toolbar as an option which you have to opt-out of. Maybe you could give use a screen shot of it?
If its annoying you you can usually hide toolbars in veiw>toolbars and unticking the one you don't want but if its something more sinister it's obviously a good idea to try and identify it rather than hide it.0 -
You could check Control Panel and uninstall. Failing that, you could try to 'restore' to before the searchbar appeared.
Good luck0 -
Sounds like something related to Office?Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
Sounds like you've indavertently switched on the Word 'Research Pane'.Stompa0

Just to put this one to bed, though it doesnt solve the mystery, the box appeared today with an X. As in GO.
Never did it have one before and to read my screen I'd have to minimise then max as it obscured the left hand side.
I've never been so pleased to see an X since my first Valentines card.0 -

Maybe this was also a result of your too vigorous cleaning mentioned in another thread?:rotfl::rotfl:Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
You weren't meant to spot that. Mr Muscle has a lot to answer for. :eek:Money_Grabber13579 wrote: »Maybe this was also a result of your too vigorous cleaning mentioned in another thread?:rotfl::rotfl:
