Mysterious folder on hard drive!

A folder has mysteriously arrived in my “volume D” portioned HD containing “14 files and 2 folders”
When trying to delete it a window pops up with, “Error deleting file or folder.
Cannot delete filterpipelineproc.dll: Access is denied.
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.”
This is the title of the folder in the volume D; - cef2e4bc08ff6ded9c009f1a6caaaf
I have scanned the folder with Spybot S&D, AVG and Asquared free, all showing nothing.
I have unchecked “read only” in properties, but it keeps rechecking itself.
Any ideas what it is and how I get rid of it?

This seems to relate to a program called "Ghostscript"
Just Google for it.

The foldername looks like a generated temp name. I just had a look and I had a folder with a similarly strange name containing that same dll but I was able to delete it no problem.
I suspect it could have been put there by windows update as we both had it.0 -
One tactic that always worked for me when all other methods failed was to create a folder with the same name on another partition or external drive. Put a duplicate copy of any file into it, for good measure. Then drag and drop this new folder to the desktop. A warning message would come up saying "An older version of this already exists: replace?". Agreeing to that would remove the recalcitrant folder. Then delete the new folder in the normal way.
Don't know whether this works with XP or Vista but it might be worth trying: it only rakes a moment and you've nothing to lose by giving it a go.

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

To delete the files you may need take ownership of them, then give yourself delete permission. Or terminate the program that has the file open.
Could this be something to do with a printer driver?0 -
This might help:

I use it meself, it's legit, no viruses or Trojans. Plus, anything from a site called "FileHippo" has got to be worth a look!Je suis Charlie.0 -

Have just tried this with no luck, it just gave me an extra folder!TimothyEBaldwin wrote: »To delete the files you may need take ownership of them, then give yourself delete permission. Or terminate the program that has the file open.

That seems to have worked, although I cannot see it in my Recycle Bin! and I got 2 pop ups; -
1) The object has been deleted.
2) The object could not be deleted.
Do you want to perform the requested delete at the next reboot?
It has gone from my “volume D” drive, but to where I do not know?Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
Unlocker is a good utility when unlocking locked files.
click YES on the Do you want to perform the requested delete at the next reboot.
then reboot.
file / folder should be deleted.0 -
