Help please deciding on which outdoor speakers

I’m after some outdoor speakers for a stable yard. I will use them for listening to radio 4 whilst mucking out but something more fun/musical by others. Range is 4 stables, 2 barns so quite big and outside obviously. Speakers will go under the eves so need to be weatherproof. I’ve come up with two options

Adastra Weatherproof speakers http://www.rs100.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=222
Or
Accoustic Energy Extreme 5
http://www.digitaldirect.co.uk/acoustic-energy/ae-extreme-5-black.html

I’m being very girly here – I don’t really understand the differences other than price (oh and I’ve not yet shopped around for best deals which I will do once I decide which).

Can anyone help me out here please? I’d love to really understand the differences so I can decide which to buy.

Judging by the specs the Accoustic Energy will provide a better frequency response, but it does not state the RMS value, whereas the Adastra says 65W RMS.

How many speakers are you planning to use and what are the specs of the the system they will they be connected to?

Planning to use 2 speakers. Still need to buy a system to connect them too (am hoping short term they will connect to the freebie system I was given when I ordered some envelopes - its not great but will do till I can get something else). And err...forgive me but whats RMS?

Root Mean Square. For hi-fi purposes it's best just to think of it as a label. The specs on the system amplifier should also state a RMS value, along with an impedance value. The impedence of the speakers should match the impedance of the amp. The RMS value of the speakers should be equal to or greater than that of the amp.

Totally loved the link - made me smile! baffled completely but understand your interpretation! OK, so this is something to bear in mind when I buy a system (I'm probably doing it the wrong way round but I have a system that might work short term which is why I'm getting the speakers first).
