The ongoing saga of selling this mobile phone! I sold a phone but asked interntaional sellers to contact me before making any bid. A seller from lithuania contacted me a few minutes before the auction ended, leaving me little time to respond and then bid and won anyway.
I know I made a big mistake of not detailing the delivery options correctly, that’s fully my error and hey, I’m learning as I go along with this thing. However, the item was won by an international seller and they didn’t pay initially. Now, I will only send by international tracking courier (such as DHL etc), sent them a message indicating this and a rough price for P&P and asked if they wanted to proceed.
A week late, I opened a case when they did not respond. Then the case had been open for 5 days where they’ve replied via ebay saying they’re willing to pay and now they’ve paid through paypal but they have not paid a sufficient amount of P&P which I quoted them for international tracking.
Basically they’ve given me enough for the royal mail tracking (which isn’t sufficient and leaves me open if the item isn’t trackable over there) and have indicated they will pay no more. They have sent me additional emails to my personal email account (obviously via the paypal payment) with feedback threats and saying have I sent the phone yet?
Do I reply explaining the P&P situation and tell them I've already spoke to ebay about the threats, emails etc or would I be best to now close the case, give them an unpaid item strike (as they haven;t paid the correct amount) and get my FVF and challenge any negative feedback they send? I obviously have prove of feedback threats, for example.?
I've contacted ebay about the email contact and the feedback threats and just got the usual bumph about appreciating my concerns and it's been looked into etc etc....so basically, it's down to me to sort this out and ebay are staying clear for now.

i woulds refund and say if they are not willing to pay sufficient postage then they can either collect the item or add a UK address to their paypal account.
i would send trhis and any message via ebay messages regardless of how they respond0 -

Agree with Custardy. It s never worth selling mobile phones abroad as you can get good prices in this country and there is always problems with them. Its really not worth the hassle.0

Also agree with Custardy.
Just refund and give them the options of:
1. Paying £X which includes the correct postage amount
2. Change their Paypal account to show a UK address they can send it to.
I wouldn't offer them the option of collection, as they might send some dodgy friend round, and then you still have no proof it arrived, so they could open a dispute for not received...
If they've made a threat of negative feedback, report to ebay, as if they then do leave a neg, you can probably get it removed.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Yeah, thanks guys. Will refund them via paypal and then close the case due to their reluctance to pay for international tracking P&P, threats of negative feedback and email harassment. Will close the case so I get my FVF back but will remove any unpaid item strike on them as a gesture of goodwill and warn them that ebay already know about any negative feedback threats, therefore will contest anything that they leave regarding the matter.
Does that sound good/right?
Thanks guys.0 -
I personally would not remove the unpaid item ou negitive strike because if they leave you negitive feedback it can be removed on the basis of that strike, without you have little leverage.
don't pander to them too much, feedback is important but so is standing your ground too some very dodgy sounding people.0 -
Yeah, was thinking that but then wondered if it looked dodgy to ebay doing that because they'd made a payment, albeit an insufficent amount. I guess as it is insufficent, it counts?

Hi
I agree with the others, refund the Paypal payment. I would either just close the case and get your final value fees back or I would resend an invoice with the actual P&P charge you quoted for tracking and see if they pay for it again. If they leave you negative feedback just put a follow up comment saying 'didn't pay correct International postage so payment was refunded'.
I am going to Lithuania on Thursday for 5 days to a wedding!Sealed Pot Challenge #0160
