fix up rather than replace it kitchen :)

Hello Just wondering if any of you can point me in the right direction?

I've got a kitchen already in my house thats a black gloss thing from ikea not really to my taste but can't afford to replace it.

I have a few questions:
Does anyone know where I can get black gloss kitchen doors from,as four and three drawer front are missing?

Also I have a corner rotary veg rack? The top shelf has gone more or less sideways is there a part that can be used to replace it?
And finally there is a corner sliding door four rack unit that also doesnt work properly as it looks to be missing a part from the top, can you get replacement parts for these?
Sorry to be vaugue but confused as to what can be fixed and what needs completly replacing.

ALSO....sorry I have a mixer tap system with a little sink and a big sink and I keep getting this rank smell especially from the smaller sink,Ive put demestos down but hasn't made a difference...any ideas?
Thanks

Why not have a look on the Ikea website first and see what is there? Then have a look at B&Q and do a google search.

I bet the drawer fronts are sold separately by Ikea - so you buy a universal carcass and the doors you like to fit? Definately worth calling their central customer services as you will have a job trying to get other people's draw fronts to fit and the Ikea ones are quite unique - don't they have some silver on them as well somewhere? I called them once as I was missing a couple of screws and they sent me the whole pack for the item for free! Shame the customer service people in the store aren't always that nice.

I am pretty sure that all their accessories are sold separately as well as they have a separate section with gadgets and gizmos which you just pick up.

    Hi Skellett

I would suggest that you use Soda Crystals in your drain - dead cheap from the supermarket - pour them down the drain and leave for a short time, then slowly pour boiling water down - it should flush away any yuck down there and stop it from smelling.

  • And use the Soda Crystals once a week or so to keep the pipes clean, also worth doing in the bathroom as well.

It seems to me that your first port of call should be IKEA. The sink system that you have is called a one and a half bowl sink top. It is normally easy to remove the trap(s) under the sink without the use of tools, and to ensure that it is free flowing and clean. As has been said, Ikea seem to be in a world of their own as regards to sizes. They do sell most of their bits and pieces separately, so you might well find that you can get spares.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
  • Thankyou everyone for your replies I shall definatly try the soda crystals.
I was wondering about the ikea unit fronts as I know there beds are a different size to everyone elses and are a pain to get sheets for.
I've been into ikea and they are doing black fronts but they are black matt instead of gloss....mind you I dont suppose they will look vastly different as they are for the other side of the kitchen :)
