Converting NTSC Video into PAL format

Hello,
I had a short video (30 mins) made of a skydive in America. When I got back to the UK, I realised that the video was in NTSC format, rendering it unplayable on my VHS player. It will work on some players (I assume they are set up to play both NTSC and PAL), but not all.
How do I go about getting the vid into PAL format? Preferably free!
Cheers

The problem is that the VCR playing the NTSC tape will actually be outputting PAL60. That is, displaying 60 fields per second instead of the normal 50.
Your best bet is to locate someone with DVD recorder or PC capture card which can record PAL60. Then do the scan conversion to 50 fields on a PC using free software.
Otherwise, you'll need to pay for the conversion.0
