A driving test only lasts about 30 mins doesn't it? You should be able to get any instructor to go to & from the test & allow the car to be used for a test within 1 hour.

A driving test lasts between 35 and 40 minutes plus another 5 minutes for the examiners paperwork and debrief, you have got to be at the test centre 10 minutes before the test starts which all adds up to approximately 55 minutes.

If you could pick a pupil up that may live several miles from a test centre, drive through traffic allowing for any delays that may occur on the way, allow time for the test and then get them home all within 1 hour you would be a remarkable driving instructor.

What if the test centre was a couple of hundred miles away? Could be a all dayer? What if it was a couple of hundred miles away and was a 9:00am test? Could be on overnight stop too?

What if the candidate used a driving school more closer to the test centre?
Or better still, used their own car?

What if there are no schools next door to the centre?
What if they do not have their own car?

There a thousands of 'What ifs' but driving instructors have to work on facts and plan ahead for each pupils test including what is necessary and applicable to each individual candidate, not on what someone on an internet forum thinks.
