dvd recorders

do dvd recorders work the same way as sky+ and V+

gonna just go to freeview but i'm so used to the sky+ box, i'd still love to be able to use it in the same way???

    They work in a similar way, but not exactly the same:confused:

    As DVD Recorders (AFAIK) only have ONE receiver, you can only record ONE program, whereas Sky+ can record TWO programs simultaneously. You can however, watch an already recorded program whilst recording another program.

    Get a dual tuner PVR instead of a DVD recorder. They work EXACTLY like $ky+, so you can either: watch one thing and record another; record two things at the same time and watch something you have already recorded; pause live tv etc etc. Mines got a 500Gb HD which will let me record about 300 hours of programmes...
    If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
