Recently had a SKS divan bed from Sleepmasters. It was £799 for base and orthopedic mattress and a further £149 for the leather headboard. Divan base has 4 drawers and is one of the largest depths they do at 14''.

I buy my fitted sheets from Textiles direct and are about a tenner each.

Have a search for Sleepmasters in the MSE threads. There have been some bad reviews.
  • I bought ours from Ikea and got a separate mattress due to the bad reviews of Ikea mattresses.

The bed is excellent! One of my best purchases ever.

Many of those Sleepmasters divan beds have half price off at the moment in the January sale...

It is very rare to get loads of money off beds and mattresses in the high street stores in the sales. They just inflate the RRP, then tell you that you are getting it cheap in the sale, when it is just usually closer to the real value.

If you want to get a good mattress at a low price then stay away from the big brands and the big stores, and buy on line from a seller who gives a proper satisfaction guarantee that lets you unpack and sleep on the mattress.

I bought a superking bed and luxury mattress from http://www.bigtable.co.uk/ and it has been fab, we've had it over 10 years and it's still going strong.

As should any good quality mattress.

Are they expensive? I allways find it worrying when a company doesn't display it's prices on their web site.
  • Any opinions on a Kozeesleep Empress, superking? we have a budget of £900 and this seems a good buy for a matress with 1500 pocket springs and a sprung divan with two drawers.

    Sorry can not post link

we got our DD a super king size bed and mattress from JKYS, in lincoln. there are other stores nation wide. The beds on the web site, its silver metal framed and with the mattress and slats we paid £130..... true bargain, dont care if it only last a couple of years.

They do sofas and other furniture, and are widely used on home makeover shows like 60 minute makeover.

    Hope this is of help.

Not expensive at all, very good value in fact. We are about to buy a single mattress for my mum's spare bedroom and the price for the similar quality to the superking one I already have is only £210
