Not sure if what I am looking for exists but here goes....
I was wondering if there is a way to search a website - eg a for sale/trade forum, for keywords on a regular basis and be emailed the results.
I keep seeing items that I might be interested in buying that were snapped up before I get chance to look at them as I cant really browse the web at work.
Cheers!

Hmm, thats sounds like a nifty little tool. I finish my exams in a month, i'll add this to my list of projects.
Generally, something like this is possible, but how easy it is depends on the website. For example, amazon have a web services api, which a developer can tap into to search the amazon database, which returns a specially formatted set of results usable by the developer. *wonders if MSE has such an api :P*
Would others also like to have something like this?I'm better off without you.0 -
I use a php script with libcurl to do something very similar. I plan to do one to check the various bargain forums on an hourly basis (or less) but I'm a bit short of round tuits at the moment. What goes around - comes around0
