Ebay help with postage

Hi i need a new bed and have spotted the same bed on ebay for 400 pounds cheaper than what a shop would sell it.
Anyhow it is a private auction and the guy would have to post the bed.
I have asked him if he could do this but neither of us have no idea how to.
Who would we use to post such a large item (although it comes to bits) and what costs would be involved? I know weight sometimes determines cost but how the eck do you weigh a bed?
Any help please

If you look on Ebay there are plenty of people offering man and van services to pick up and deliver items. Some will even pay for the item in cash on your behalf.0
