Oh my gosh ... why didn't I think of that! Off to find the local library catalogue online! Thank you!

There are no copies available in the local libraries in my county! Nevermind!

Don't forget to check your library, you can do that online too, some libraries will have it ... although you won't all be lucky.
If a book is at another library then you can order it from your library to be delivered to them, so you can pick it up locally. There is a charge for this of a few quid (£2-3 usually) and it might take 2-3 months to get to you, but if you're saving money then it's a solution of sorts. If you're lucky enough to find that your local council has it in one of their libraries then they'll get it in for you for free, but again, expect a long wait.
Edit: oh, I got distracted .. and beaten to it.0 -
My local library is pants for cook books.
And I don't think they even have an online catalogue grrrrrr.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I think I read this when my ex-OH was a student, we got it from the Uni library, I remember it being very good (but a bit pricey on Amazon) and NOT available from my local libraryGo hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0

I used to have a copy of the benefit book, it was great, Bernadine has posted on here, she was talking about writing another book, I think her id was Chelsea housewife, or something similar.
I also had a Shirley Goode cookbook that was great, Shirley has a blog, but I don't have all my links at the moment.
