Unpaid Wages = Unpaid Direct Debit

Hi,
I was just wondering if someone could help. Last month i was not paid by my employers on the usual date that i should be due to a human error. Now this person who made the human error is a a lovely person, however, because these wages didn't go through i had 2 Direct Debits bounce, which i paid as soon as i found out, after having lent money of someone.

So i have now received my bank statement and they have let me know that they intend to charge me £30 each for the unpaid Direct Debits at the end of August.

My questions are, is there anyway that i can write to the bank explaining that this was not my fault as i am always on the ball with Direct Debits normally.
AND
If the bank can't do this, should my employer's re-emburse me the charges amount for cocking up the wages??

Thanks in advance!!!

First of all i wouldnt bother contacting your bank, it wasnt their fault.

Your employer should be footing the bill for your charges as they were responsible for the mistake.

Move your direct debits for a few days further into the month so that it doesnt happen again.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

There is nothing stopping you from pursuing both your employee and the bank. Your employee now since if they have made a mistake they should reimburse you losses. You can pursue the bank because the charges may be unlawful and they would have to refund you.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
