Alliance & Lecister Debt Card Payment Without Authority

Hi Guys,
New here but looking for a bit of advice.
Im having payments taking from my account using my debit card info with a company I am in dispute with. I phoned A&L 3 months ago as it started with a £25 card transaction and they advised me to contact the company (The money shop) so I did and they told me basicly tough they can do what they want. 2 Weeks later the same thing happen but this time for £50. So again I phoned my bank to stop these payments being taken and they said there is nothing they can do as I must have given them authority, they advised me to write a letter giving them 28 days to stop the payments so I did. I heard nothing back in 28days. In that time another £50 was taken from my account same company same method and A&L said I would have to deal with the company (at this point i've made 7 phone calls and 2 letters to the money shop who tell me tough).
2 weeks later my wages get paid and as soon as they do £175 is taken from my account and I phoned A&L spoke to a manager who credited it back while they got there debit card team to resolve - HAPPY DAYS at last!! WRONG!!!
4 days later my account is -£175 and they're charging me £5 a day until i get paid on the 31st of August (21 days away.) And are unwilling to help even though I've provided them with the letters.
What else can I do? i'm out £400 and will be getting charged because my bank didnt help me?

I think the key bit of information we need here is are you in a contract with The Money Shop at the moment and therefore legally committed to these payments? If so you regardless of whether you are in dispute with them or not, you need to keep paying and then once the dispute resolved The Money Shop will then have to refund.
It sounds to me that if the A&L have reversed the refund then The Money Shop are entitled to be taking this money from you.0 -
The money shop refuse to give me a copy of the agreement.. so no not in a legal contract and they have not given A&L a copy either to prove it.0

They don't have to give A&L a copy as it's nothing to do with them. I am surprised however that they refuse to give you an agreement! Is it a case of the won't send a copy or you've never been given one to start with?0

a copy, i have sent a cheque for £10 to cover the cost. but im telling A&L is not lawful transactions and have written letters and countless phone calls. surely they cant take a payment after i've told them 100 times not too0

Again it depends on the circumstances, if you've agreed to pay them previously and they are acting as per that original agreement then yes they can take as you should only ahve ever given your debit card details if you were happy with the agreement.

but there must be a legal standing when I've asked the bank to stop the payments? Why cant they just stop them taking money?
im in dispute because I cleared the balance by cheque cashed by them now there taking double the balance when i've sent proof of cheque cashed.0 -

Well in that case they shouldn't be taking any money from you. Why are they disputing you've paid? Surely it should be a simple matter... they've cashed the cheque, you don't owe any money so they shouldn't be claiming it.
What's their reason for disputing that you've cleared the balance?0 -
they state the cheque was never cashed but it came out my A&L account, its was made payable to them for the exact ammount. so if they go for another £1000 next friday A&L will just allow it no matter what I say? even though ive sent the 28day letter they stated i should?0
