Problem with specs

I bought a pair of specs several months ago and now I think they're uncomfortable to wear because they're too heavy. The frame and lenses are of good quality but, by the end of each day, I need to take the glasses off and wear an old pair (much lighter).
What are my rights? The opticians said they can put the lenses on another frame (rimless one this time) but, because it's a complicated prescription (short sight, astigmatism and varifocals), it might not work because each frame has got different measurements.
I feel totally miserable and don't know what to do. Any advice please?

What do you actually want your opticians to do about it "after several months"?? Its not like they have got more heavy since you collected them. If you had gone back after a couple of weeks I'm sure they would have changed them for you. Chalk it up to experience.
What I would do is let them re edge them into a smaller frame. Don't assume rimless will reduce the weight dramatically - most of the weight comes from the lens size and thickness. Make sure you are happy with the frame. That way if the re-edgeing doesn't work, you can then get new lenses put into this new frame. If you have to do this, find out if you can get the lenses any thinner and lighter than the previous pair.
Please don't expect your opticians to do this for free however. They might give you some discount if you ask nicely, but you've just left it too long to expect much.
Sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear!0 -
