best deals on kitchens at the moment?

I'm looking to get a complete new kitchen, units, worktops, sink, taps and built in oven/ hob. Everything, but the white goods really.
I was wondering if anyone knew the best, and when I say best I really mean cheapest place to get a kitchen at the moment (does anyone have a sale or deals on)?
I would be getting the fitting work done by someone I know, thanks very much for any advice.

Hi, Really there are no 'sales' on fitted kitchens - you generally just get what you pay for. Obviously you see lots of companies advertising huge percentage savings - its all market BS.
Very simply - best value for bottom end kitchens probably Wickes if you have a bit more to spend look at a local independent kitchen specialist.

To get the best deals you should split every element up - units, worktops, individual appliances, sink & taps and buy them from different place - those that specialise in those items. If you're prepared to do the legwork you will almost certainly save your self a lot of money.
It's also easier to compare the cost of the actual kitchen when you're not getting quoted on totally different extras which make it really ahrd to compare. Kitchens are not just one price, they are many elements with their own prices, just like shopping at the supermarket - the shopping cost £80 but you know that the bottle of wine you bought cost £4.99 etc. so it's better to compare the prices of what's in the basket like-for-like especially with something as expensive as a kitchen.
pricerunner.co.uk is your friend, as is ebay sometimes!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Hi Tucbiscuit, I'm subscribing to this thread as I'm looking for a similar thing. I think Doozergirl's advice sounds really good. I think I'm just gonna have to do the legwork, and maybe search all the voucher sites and see if anything on topcashback too.
I found a really nice one in Homebase. And made a short list of Ikea, Wickes, B&Q to have a look at for inspiration.
one tip I got from my mum last night was to buy cheap cabinets and put nice doors on. As long as they're fitted well, they'll have a good lifetime and most cabinets are standard size/fitting. Trade shops will be good for things like taps (Plumb Center maybe), or if you know people in the trade (plumbers etc.) they can often get discounts.
I'll keep you updated if I find anything, hopefully you'll do the same

ps: just found that Screwfix.com have £200 voucher on their kitchens. Don't know about quality, but they're obviously more trade orientated, so might be cheaper?

Not everyone lives on this board. I don't even know what you're on about and I do virtually live here
Heh thanks Doozergirl. You've made me realise I posted this in the wrong thread lol (That's what happens when men try to multitask
)
It was supposed to go into one of the "I didn't actually read the T&C's and now I'm not happy about them" posts...
I'll delete itIf it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
