How big are BBC iPlayer files?

If I watch an hour of BBC iPlayer on my mobile, roughly how many Mbs will that be?
I ask because I have a data limit, and wonder if anyone knows or can hazard a good guess.
Thanks.

I seem to remember reading that they are around 600-700Mb each. That's an average though, and will depend on the length of the show and whether it's high or low def.

The mobile version will not be those file sizes. Not sure what size they are myself.

Thanks. It's on my Nokia, so I guess it should be the same as the i-Phone.

My "unlimited" Virgin SIM has a fair-usage limit of 25MB! Are there any phone contracts that would allow you to download such large files without paying a fortune?

Have you tried downloading before watching - ie to a sd card or via wifi so not using mobile data ?

No. On the N95 8GB, it's just a streaming application unlike the N96 and newer. For quite a long while the BBC didn't want to even allow the i-player app on older phones.

Wi-fi works, of course, but just streaming.
